Fund Adviser & Head of Equities India
Gaurav Narain joined Ocean Dial in November 2011, having been immersed in the Indian equity markets for the previous 18 years. He has held senior positions as both a fund manager and an equities analyst in New Horizon Investments, ING Investment Management India and SG (Asia) Securities India. He holds a Masters degree in Finance and Control and a Bachelor of Economics degree from Delhi University.
Assistant Fund Manager
Shahil Shah was part of the original Ocean Dial investment team which was set up in 2005 and specialises in Telecommunications, Consumer, Healthcare, and Media sectors. He holds a Masters in Commerce and Finance from Mumbai University and is based in London. Shahil works with Gaurav Narain conducting investment research for ICGF.
Saurabh Chugh has been a part of the original Ocean Dial investment team since 2006. He specialises in Information Technology, Energy, Transport, Infrastructure and Soft Commodities. He holds an MBA in Finance from Nirma Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and is based in Mumbai.
Ankush Kedia joined Ocean Dial in April 2018 and is based in Mumbai. He has 11+ years of investment experience in public markets and private equity. He previously worked for Avezo Advisors (a division of Avendus Capital) as Principal and Co-fund Manager focusing on private equity style investments in small and mid-cap listed companies in India. Prior to Avezo, Ankush worked with Mayfield Fund and Axis Bank. He holds an MBA in Finance and Economics from XLRI, Jamshedpur and BTech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Roorkee.
Namit Agarwal joined Ocean Dial in December 2017 and is based in Mumbai. He previously worked for Avendus Capital as an Analyst in the investment banking team focussing on Cross Border M&A deals, in the Enterprise Technology space. Prior to Avendus, Namit has worked as an associate at Grant Thornton in their Transaction Advisory team. Namit studied a Bachelors in Commerce at Mumbai University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has passed all three Chartered Financial Analyst exams.
Managing Director & Chief Investment Officer
David Cornell joined Ocean Dial in January 2010 from Henderson Global Investors. He is based in London having been resident in Mumbai for three years until July 2013. He started his career in 1995 covering India for Robert Fleming Securities, ran the BDT Emerging Market Fund from 2004 to 2008 which compounded at over 25% per annum during his tenure and then co-managed New Star’s Institutional Emerging Market Fund. He has a degree in English and History from the University of Durham and was in the British Army from 1991-1995.
Chief Executive Officer
Robin Sellers joined Ocean Dial in December 2011 having spent 16 years at Close Brothers Group as Head of Group Finance, Group Company Secretary and Finance Director of the group’s regulated bank. Robin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984 and spent the early part of his professional career with accountants, Coopers & Lybrand, both in the UK and Australia.
Head of Business Development
Amul Pandya’s career started in politics in 2009. He moved to asset management in 2012, joining Ocean Dial as Sales & Marketing Manager. Amul subsequently helped to launch Cape Wrath Capital, a UK equity deep value firm in 2016. He re-joined Ocean Dial in September 2018 as Head of Business Development. Amul has a degree in Law from Southampton University and is a CFA charterholder.
Camilla Bryden joined Ocean Dial in October 2018, working previously as a Client Relationships Manager in a marketing and branding agency. She graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2015 with a degree in English Literature.
David Ashenden is responsible for all operational and fund administration matters. He joined Ocean Dial from Odey Asset Management in March 2017. He has over 24 years fund administration experience including more recently 7 years with Henderson Global Investors as Senior Fund Control Analyst. David has a Diploma in Business and Finance from West Kent College. David responsible for daily operations relating to Gateway to India Fund, Systematic India Return Fund and the Composite India Fund, including the production of NAV’s and performance information for publication in the Company factsheet.
Karen Gardiner joined Ocean Dial in June 2016 having previously worked for a software company, Third Financial in London. Prior to this Karen spent four years covering various roles at Scottish based wealth firm, McInroy and Wood. Karen has overall responsibility for daily operations relating to both India Capital Growth and Emerging India Fund, including the production of NAV’s and performance information for publication in the Company factsheet.
Jenny Murley joined Ocean Dial in London in April 2018. She is an experienced Compliance Manager in the funds sector with a legal background and reports directly to the CEO and Board of Directors. Jenny previously worked in compliance at Greencoat Capital, John Laing Capital Management and Pradera.
